I am such a big fan! You are one of the people that inspire me to be a cartoonist in the future. Ever since I joined deviantart I noticed you were responsible for the cartoonish style that I always favorited in my bookmarks. I just love the expressions you do in your work!
Have you ever watched any of the Tex Avery cartoons? Not that your style here is very Tex Avery, but these usually remind me of the show and for some reason this one brings images of that little trickster of a panda cutey whose name I fail to recall from the show. xD
I adore the way you can make a character look both cute and flexible. By that I mean, have the elastic expressions of an exaggerated character, yet still looking at them is like looking at a puppy or something.
Do you go into these drawings whilst mentally visualising the expression you're gonna go for, or do you just put the pen down and see what comes out?
Jesus, I'd but THE SHIT out of an artbook with your drawings. A lot of really fun and inspiring designs, like how here there's a big head and little eyes bunny that makes him look really "brainy", and then there's the one above, looks so 'stretched' and somehow makes you think "Yeah, he maybe sometimes does something stupid, like maybe to earn easy money and puts himself into danger because of that". Really inspiring stuff, thanks!
I can't stop looking at the first picture of the second row. I look at his expression, and I say 'What's he looking at? It seems to have his attention? Also, why is he wearing a shirt?' I know I'm not going to get any answers, but I'm okay with that. These are the kind of pictures you can look at and make your own stories with them. You can create so much more with just a small starting point.
The thing about bunnies may be that sometimes you draw them, but another thing about bunnies, and anything that anyone does, is that they can inspire others.
Rabbits are very flexible subjects for cartooning. They can be both cute (Thumper) and funny (Bugs Bunny, Roger Rabbit). Few other creatures have such range. Your bunnies are cute, especially the little guy on the bottom.
